Q: How long in advance should I make a reservation?
A: As soon as you know the date that you would like to rent, we recommend that you place a deposit to hold your reservation. Please check our policies for cancellations. OC Luxury Auto Rentals (OCLAR) is taking reservations up to a year in advance.
Q: How do I reserve the date I want?
A: Once you have selected a date, just give us a call and put down a $200 deposit. After a deposit is taken, your date is guaranteed for the vehicle you wish to rent and we will then mail you a reservation confirmation in the mail.
Q: Can I rent at the last minute?
A: We prefer you set up the rental at least 3 days in advance so that we may verify your insurance and make sure your vehicle is available, clean and ready. We do, however, accept same-day rentals. But, please note that in these situations we still cannot guarantee your rental.
Q: If I call on the weekend, will I be able to rent a vehicle from you on that day?
A: We must first verify your car insurance coverage through your agent. If he or she does not work over the weekend, we may not be able to call and verify your policy. Many insurance providers have 1-800 numbers that we can call on the weekends, so it all depends on the company you use for your insurance.
Q: Do you accept walk-ins?
A: No, we do not accept walk-ins. You must contact us by phone and provide us with all of the necessary information in order to qualify. In addition, vehicle viewing is by appointment only.
Q: If I do not qualify to rent a vehicle because of my age, can someone who is older than me rent the vehicle for me?
A: No.
Q: Can I put down all cash for my damage deposit?
A: No. OCLAR requires that at least 50% of the damage deposit be placed on your credit card.
Q: Do you accept debit cards?
A: Yes. If you use a debit card for the $2500 damage deposit, please bring the phone number of your bank so that we may release your funds when your rental is complete.
Q: I do not have adequate insurance coverage, can I still qualify?
A: You must have full coverage to rent from us and meet our minimum requirement of 100/300/100. Switching from less insurance coverage to these levels may be much LESS expensive than you think, and can be done with a quick call to your insurance agent.
Q: I've had insurance through my insurance company for just a month, do I qualify?
A: No. OCLAR requires that you have had your policy in place for at least 3 months with your current insurance carrier.
Q: I have 100/300/100 insurance but have a lot of tickets/accidents, do I still qualify?
A: It depends. If you have an SR rating through your insurance carrier, you will not qualify. If you have 3 or more tickets on your record in the last 3 years, you will not qualify. In the last 5 years if you have had a revoked license or any type of suspension, you will not qualify. We run DMV reports for each renter.
Q: What kind of condition are your vehicles in?
A: All of our vehicles are newer models. There are no dents or scratches on ANY of our vehicles. We take pride in actually over-maintaining our vehicles so you get the freshest car possible.
Q: How many vehicles do you have available?
A: At this time we rent 2 vehicles, including a 2005 Mercedes E 55 AMG, and a 2006 Cadillac Escalade. But, keep checking our website as we will be adding more luxury vehicles soon!
Q: Do you offer gift certificates in any denomination?
A: Absolutely! OCLAR has gift certificates to fit ANY budget -- $25, $50, $100 -- you decide.
Q: Can I be put on your mailing list? Do you sell this list to anyone?
A: Just email us telling us you would like to be placed on our mailing list. You can expect a monthly newsletter which will have all-new updates, specials as well as promotions. We do not sell your email address to anyone.
Q: Do you rent to clients who do not live in the United States?
A: No.
Q: Can I leave my vehicle on your premises during my rental?
A: Yes.
Q: How much do you charge to deliver and/or pick up a vehicle?
A: OC Luxury Auto Rentals, LLC will deliver/pick-up the rental car for free within 15 miles of Newport Beach, including the John Wayne, Orange County Airport. Delivery/pickup beyond 15 miles may incur additional charges. Call us at 949-735-9965 for details.
Q: Is smoking or pets permitted in the vehicles?
A: No, for the pleasure of all future renters, we do not allow smoking or pets in our vehicles. A cleaning charge may apply if this policy is violated.
Q: What is the fuel policy?
A: All vehicles need to be returned with the same amount of fuel as when they were picked up. Otherwise, a fuel charge of $4.00 per gallon will be applied. Also, for vehicles requiring premium fuel, receipts must be shown as proof that premium fuel was put in the vehicle.
Q: What should I do if I get into an accident?
A: First, seek medical attention if needed. Secondly, for insurance purposes and your own protection, you must file a police report. Then, contact us promptly so that we can help advise you what step to take next.
Q: What should I do if my vehicle breaks down?
A: A breakdown is unlikely since most of our vehicles are late models and stringently maintained. However, if a breakdown does occur, immediately call the phone number on your rental contract, and we will take care of it. Do not do any repairs to the vehicle without authorization from us. |
